Freelance Backline Technician

Overview

The freelance backline technician role is a contract position based on experience, fit, and show availability. We maintain a list of qualified technicians and add to it selectively based on fit and show demand. While openings are infrequent, we want to hear from you if you're a strong candidate.

We are always seeking all levels of talent, from entry-level to experienced including those with non-backline production experience. You'll learn from our lead technicians and warehouse staff on real gear, for real shows.

Role

• Understand musical instruments from a technical perspective and a player’s perspective. 
• Qualified to set up guitar, bass, and keyboard rigs, organ and Leslie speakers, drum kits, percussion equipment, DJ equipment, and wireless equipment.
• Able to work with the artist and touring techs to meet their expectations.
• Have and maintain a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment
• Load/Unload trucks
• Drive to/from shows
• Willingness to travel with short notice
• Setup/Teardown of backline equipment at shows
• Service client from start to finish of show
• Ability to learn and maintain rental inventory database system
• Maintain physical inventory in warehouse
• Willingness to react quickly to a request
